yes! travelofreak, poovar is beach + (bit of )backwater

while Ashtamudi is a backwater setination , but not the larges in Kerala ( but second to the Vembanad backwater -kumarkaom, alleppey etc )

if you had your fill of beaches with your recent holidays then you can go to Ashtamudi for few days

but incase you opt out( by any chance) of the club mahindra holdiay pacakge during your first visit to Kerala , then no doubt the Vembanad backwaters ( Kumarakom or Alleppey ) gets my vote

Arriving at Cochin , it should have been Munanr - Thekady - Ashtamudi- Kovalam- Poovar in order to aviod bit of back tracking ( and do you depart from cochin??)

but i understand it is lot to do with availabilty at the resorts that has forced to do it in the order you have given

Thanks for the reply.

But please tell have you visited club mahindra resorts in poovar, thekkady & ashtamudi, inspite of the locations which you rate the most & why.

Would like to tell you that the way i have chosen is because we have to depart from Cochin while talking to somebody in the travel desk has suggested to go from Hot to Cold region that's why i am visiting ashtamudi first than poovar than thekkady & in the last munnar while going back to cochin.
