Thanks I'll check it out. Never been to Goa before,is Calangute the best area to stay in, or is Baga or Candolim better for retaurants, beach, etc. Can you walk along the beach from one to another?

I would recommend Paradise Village in Calangute.

Candolim, Calangute and Baga are all fairly close together and all have good bars, shacks and restaurants. Taxis are very cheap to get between the three of them but remember to haggle a bit!!!

You can walk along the beach from Baga down to Candolim/Siquerim or vice versa, it would take an hour or so.

Checked out all hotels and was interested in CSM and Ronil Beach. Also had a good price for Sun Village,Arpora,a/i. Reviews were really good, location was the downfall.I know food is cheap but price was not much more. What do you think?

Sun Village is about 45 mins walk to Baga Beach, they do a shuttle bus but you have to book it, plenty of taxis outside. Nothing much near the Sun Village other than a few hotels.

Aldeia Santa Rita is in Candolim, in Thomas Cook bochure. First timeer friend of ours liked it. All inclusive, food ok, but if first time and 'nervous' then gentle introduction. Parts of Baga and Calangute are a little packed now so in my opininion Candolim may be better for you - unless of course you like it very lively.
