Hello! Travelling from Australia and wondering if anyone can advise a nice, affordable "girlfriend getaway" in Mendocino for me and my friend. Ideally, we would like a cottage or room in Mendo town, with two beds, quiet and comfy. At this stage, the Sea Gull B&B looks like the best option . . . any suggestions?

The Sea Gull In would be fine. You can also check the MacCallum House if you want to be right in town. There are also many options out and around the village of Mendocino. Check out www.gomendo.com for more detailed information.

I hope you have a great trip!

I agree that MacCallum House would be a good bet. This is a very pretty place. You should enjoy it!

We have stayed at the McCallum House and enjoyed it, but you need to be aware that it is something of a "complex", meaning that in addition to rooms in the original house they also have rooms in the former outbuildings and even some off-site. To me, it was a little confusing deciding where to stay. We ended up in a building they call the "barn" in a room with a stone fireplace, which we enjoyed very much but it was just luck choosing it.

I would agree that the McCallum House is a great choice! You cannot beat the location and it is just so pretty there! Also, you will get a wonderful dinner at the restaurant!

Have fun!

we atayed at the Sea Gull several years ago and found it pleasant. It was less expensive than Macallum house (at least at that time). Location was great for exploring, room was comfortable and breakfast was good.
