Hi, Has anyone stayed at this motel? My husband and I are considering staying there and would like some feedback from anyone who has visited. We like to swim, we are not people who would stay in the room very much. Thanks!

Haven't seen the inside of the rooms, but it is right on US1. It's nothing fancy, but as far as cleanliness etc I'm not sure. The rooms all face the road.

Back in January JerryFan posted that they had one night booked there and asked a similar question. Maybe try to PM him/her and ask about their experience. I have been to the pub and saw the rooms from the outside. It's a small operation and right on the "highway". Looked fair, but then again, I didn't see the rooms. If by "not staying in the room much" you mean you want to spend time outdoors on the grounds, I might look for another place that offers more space.

I had planned to stay at Oceanview in Feb '07 but switched to the kon tiki because of the lack of reviews/information about the Oceanview--I did not stay at the motel only drove past it. The rooms are strip motel style facing the highway...did not stop so cannot comment on interior of the rooms or the grounds. The kon tiki was great, for what it is worth!

Hi, My wife, daughter (age 10), and I stayed at the Oceanview July 23 & 24 2007. We found that the rooms were very clean and very comfortable as long as you are not looking for 5 star ratings. Even though there is a "Local" bar attached to the motel, it was never a concern of ours. My wife stated that she felt very safe and comfortable at the motel. The pool is not very large nor is it very busy. When I asked my daughter which pool she liked better "The Oceanview or the Hawks Caye (Really large Resort that we stayed at after the Oceanview), she stated that she liked the Oceanview better because the people (guest not staff) were more friendly and we could play and make noise and splash in the pool without anyone getting upset. The Oceanview also has an outside bar attached to the pool where you can get food and drinks without worrying about tracking sand or dripping watrer onto the floor. We could hang our swimsuits and towels outside our back door and not worry about them because each room has its own private little patio and path to the pool area. There was a maintenance person working on cleaning up these areas to make them more appealing while we were staying there. Please remember that this is a "Quaint" little Florida motel, nothing fancy, just clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. We were somewhat surprised when we first arrived in that we did not see an office for check-in. So, we went into the bar and asked the bartender. She looked at us and announced to the bar "The tourist are here". Of course she then laughted, welcomed us to the Oceanview, checked us in and gave us a drink. So, I give the "Oceanview" 2 thumbs up and YES We plan to return to the Oceanview on our next trip to the Keys. Anyone that wishes can contact me by email and I will try and answer any questions. james.oliver1@navy.mil
