We got back to England last tuesday from 100 degree temperatures in Captiva.

Had a great time, beautiful place, we rented a two bed beach villa for 2 weeks - well equipped, huge plasma for olympics and golf, 2 min walk to Beach.

Service was excellent all round the resort, especially the lads on the beach. Worth the resort fee for the service on the beach.

Ate at Harbourside, Sanibel steak house -good food but expensive.

Lazy Flamingo by the main bridge was good, service excellent, relaxed.

If you have time, stock up at Publix on way to Captiva or use Jenny's.

Golf course was great but v expensive given its only 9 holes, Tennis we played once as so hot, and at 30 dollars a go was expensive given it was free when we stayed at similiar resort in Naples

Used the lagoon pool once at north end of island, very tribal in terms of beds on day we went and when it rained and we sought cover at resturant table some americans told us they had resevred the large table in a very offhand and rude way, before we had even thought about sitting at it! so much for a nice southern welcome!

Scoops was great for pizza and real ice cream -kids loved it.

IT access and boarding check in on line at reception, good but needs more control from people spending hours on them and more memory.

A truly great place for just chilling out. We will go back in the future.

And yes, the tennis fee is kind of extreme. Golf on 2 18 hole courses is available on Sanibel for more reasonable fees.
