Lee County has a voluntary evacuation order for tourists and visitors on Captiva. Though this storm is moving VERY fast, it is also widespread and will come close or over the barrier islands. Use your good judgment and follow any instructions of local authorities.

No damage except beach erosion and too much rain. There is a bunch of seaweed, but not huge amounts, just messy. To be expected with this kind of wave action. The islands are getting a strong fetch from the west northwest and the storms lingers over north FL. Shelling is good, but spotty. The rain was training over parts of Lee and Collier counties, but it's the Jacksonville/St Augustine areas that have gotten the worst of it and Orland has been drenched. Today, there's sun. See

On the upside, I suspect the drought in FL is over.

We're about 20 minutes west of Orlando and got a decent amount of rain, that will start to help. All of our lakes are still really low. Had we gotten more of the rain it would have helped, but better to get it a little bit at a time, than what the poor folks east and north of us got.
