Finally, an update was posted by Lee County. The project is delayed a bit more, not a shock, but still progressing and all permits are issued. The big "However" is the delay in opening of bidding to mid-Sept as they have yet to resolve some of the permit requirements and construction is unlikely to start before mid-October - and that might be optimistic. Looks like the Thanksgiving and Christmas visitors might be seriously impacted after all.

This project will have a longer impact along Roosevelt Channel than at the immediate Pass area, but with parking at Blind Pass closed for weeks, those renting near there that have no deeded beach access should keep this project in mind. Also, all visitors that use public beach parking will find severely limited availability with just the one lot open during the holiday season.
