With the Dollar at an all time High why is there not a selling frenzy in British high streets .
A walk down several high streets into travel agents shops seeing who has got the best deals on travelers checks I have not seen a single deal in their windows for Florida .
Is destination Florida a has been.
With the exchange rate as good as it is, nearly 2 to 1 . You would think the British public would be clamoring to book. With every thing half price when they get there.
There seems to be no shortages of flights and seats and you can name the day you want to go, without being given any alternatives of departure airport , Carrier or accommodation
3 years ago when it was only around $1;57-64. every travel agent in the high street had windows full of deals advertised. flight only , fly drives , flight car accommodation , tickets, tours the full works.
If you were to ring up or go into a shop you was often told "Flight Full", "Less then 10 seats left" make your mind quickly.
Or would you be prepare to go on another day if we can put another flight on. We will knock the price down £25 -45 pp if you are willing to let us change your dates by a few days.. Or how do you feel about having 16 days for the price of 14.
But this is a thing of the past. Never seen a single deal in any of the travel agents windows.
And when you go in they only seem to want to talk Cruises. The Far East , Australia ,New Zealand China
Even park tickets work out cheaper than the were.
And I can get a return flight to Orlando cheaper than a railway ticket from Newcastle to Bournmouth and back ( without the taxes and other add on's)
I cant get my head round the fact that I can travel 4,200 miles on an aeroplane cheaper than a 250 mile trip on land in my own country . Whats gone wrong.
Who got any opinions why.
Brits must be on the best deal ever with the present exchange rate.
