Set-up tent at Aberdeen Airport in the pay and display area (short term parking). Camping fees outrageous. Pay and display ticket kept blowing off so had to buy stapler gun.
Almost got run over by man driving a Skoda Fabia and wearing a hat. He complained I had no lights on but, personally, I think he was too old to be driving. Said he did not expect to find tent in car-parking spot. I reminded him that, as long as you could get through the barrier, you were entitled to camp. Plus, I did not see any signs saying "no camping". He seemed content with my argument and apologised. I recommended re-taking driving test.
Tried to get some shut eye. Constant air traffic made this difficult so tried out new noise cancelling headphones. Listened to Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here".
Traffic warden clamped tent. I pointed out the pay and display ticket stapled to the tent and he apologised. But said he was going to report me to the police. Heard nothing more so far.
It is a balmy night here in the north east of Scotland. Have washed vital clothes and hung them out to dry on guide rope. Elasticated pants are blowing in the breeze and should not require ironing.
Man from Skoda Fabia is talking to traffic warden. He keeps pointing in my direction. The traffic warden is nodding. They seem to be up to something.
