Spent most of the day looking for tickets to Orlando anytime in November from Manchester.

Only had one worth considering and this contained 1 stop going a 2 coming back.

One travel agents E Mail said Virgin was wiped out till 30 Dec. So why are Virgin reducing and consolidating flights if there appears to be demand.

First choice wanted £670 for an out of season off peak Economy ticket flight only.

If this is the prices for Oct - Nov I would hate to be asking for peak season prices.

One travel agent said the collapse of XL have filled other airlines seats and allowed them to put up prices. They were getting a lot of enquires for next year but turning down offers because prices were to much.

So who out there has some good offers for mid November.

I was also told Virgin was full but only from this weekend until the end of the month as they took up XL's passengers over the school holidays.

I booked with Continental direct on line a couple of days ago, Birmingham to Orlando via Newark. Was £386 per person.

Also, Virgin Atlantic website had some for around £476 per person.

XR, might be worth considering one of the London airports if you can...Delta fares are about £314 from LHR with one stop in Nov...and £356 on 11 Nov for 16 days from Manchester.....look at the grid on Kayak...the direct Virgin flights are much more.

Hi XR

If my memory serves me right isn't there an English Electric Lightning parked at the side of the A1 just a little south of your neck of the woods. A couple of cans of kerosene and a jump start might get it going and you could not only save a fortune in fares but also be there in half the time!

Ggod luck with the low fare hunting, methinks that the demise of XL will have taken a lot of pressure off the big boys to provide reasonable fares.

£275 13-27 Nov Travel Republic direct with Thomas Cook LGW/Sanford: at that price has to be worth the trip to Gatwick!
