When I'm on holiday in Florida (or generally anytime I'm in the USA) I never feel homesick or miss anything from back home...... with one exception!

I miss my car!!!I know its stupid, I generally hire a nice intermediate or an SUV which are made for American roads and have all the boys toys but I still miss my own car. I'd love to let it rip on those wide open freeways and fill her up with cheap fuel. I'd love to be sat at the intersection lights getting admiring glances at her sleek italian design. Why can't they build a tunnel from the UK to Florida, I'd happily drive across.

What home essential do you think is required to make your holiday perfect?

My boys are 16, 21, 26, & 29 now, so I miss them when they opt not to make the trip. Otherwise there's nothing I need from home!

There might be 1 item...I always buy better toilet paper than the resorts. A trip to Walmart can remedy that.

I missed my cars too! As much as I enjoyed the rental car... wish I could bring my motors over and experience driving them on the US roads!

And in a funny way, I actually missed the UK roads towards the end of the holiday. Why, I have no idea? Cos they are naff compared! LOL

I miss my daft Labradoodle when I'm away :(

Luckily for him though my Dad loves him and looks after him for 2 weeks so no boarding kennels needed. I don't think I could leave him at kennels.

I will miss my cats for sure, and maybe my own bed, hotel beds no matter how comfy always take a night or two to settle into them.

Likely to be having too much fun to miss anything else, its only 2 weeks after all, maybe after 3 i'd miss more like friends and family.

I miss my cooking, eat more veg at home than when in the usa. Have to admit that after eating out for two weeks, can't wait to get home for a good Sunday roast.
