My husband and I along with extended family (3 other adults) are coming to St. Paul for a wedding and some accompanying festivities in mid May. One of our group is wheel chair bound and needs 'accessible services' We are attending a pre-reception dinner in Mankato, near the Minnesota State University (where the bride resides) and then the reception is on the following day in Eagon MN. Here is my plan. Fly into St. airport (looks like it's right across the river from Eagon on the map) and book hotel somewhere in St. Paul or Eagon. Drive down to Mankato for the pre-reception dinner and derive back that night. (Is that realistic, looks like it's about 70 miles away). The next day attend the reception and leave the following day. We might come a day early to check out the area (it'll be my first time in MN).
we are looking for recommendations for hotel rooms. We'll need two rooms adjoining suites would be great. It' would be good to keep it under 150 a night per room if possible. Need the area to be relatively nice. We'll be renting a car from the airport.
Also if we have one extra day, any sights that are recommended? My husband and I are big foodies and would love to check out something unique. I know the Mall of America is right there and we might check it out quickly but it's not really something we'd be into. But something unique cultural and food related would be lovely.
Thank you in advance for reading my message.
