See if you can get one of the fishing cabins at Big Cedar. They don't advertise these on their website, but they are lovely, were remodeled, are right on the lake, and are way less expensive than the other cabins. This is a neighboring resort that Big Cedar bought to expand their property They were planning to just tear these down, but remodeled them instead. No they aren't the fancy Adirondack style of the super expensive cabins, but are basic, clean, and comfortable plus affordably priced. They book these quickly without any advertising, offer all of the same ammenities including the shuttle service, and are definately our family's number one choice for a Big Cedar stay.
They are right on the Lake too, and you can even fish from the shore right in front of these. Big Cedar is by far the nicest resort that we've stayed at in the area.
