Bad (but good) food

OK I know my trip is still ages away but I'm making up a folder of suggestions!

My boyfriend and I are mainly interested in eating lots of 'bad' food once we're in Vegas (as we are quite healthy in general). We're going to want to go to a proper, American branch of Pizza Hut. I looked on their website but I can't really tell where their branches are in relation to the Strip (there doesn't appear to be one there). Could someone tell me where the nearest branch is?

We are also looking forward to a proper American breakfast with pancakes: will the hotel buffets have them?

Tex-Mex is also on our list.

I'm actually a vegetarian although if desperate I will eat fish except shellfish. Will I starve?

Thanks and can I point out that I'm not saying that I believe American food to equal junk food, but we just want to eat lots of unhealthy stuff that we can't get over here! (Pizza Hut is a hit and miss affair in the UK IMHO)

try Dennys for breakfast - really cheap and you can get pancakes/eggs (plus meat!)

Haven't eaten at any of the breakfast buffets or pizza hut in Las Vegas so I can't comment.

If you like desserts try the Cheesecake Factory in the Forum shops Caesars Palace, the cheesecakes are huge

I'm probably gonna get flamed for this but here goes:

In my opinion, the International House of Pancakes makes the best pancakes I've ever had. Buffet pancakes will be the biggest disappoinment in your life if you have the nerve to eat 'em.

Your mileage may vary.

Please, for the love of all that good and Holy, don't eat at Denny's.

I'd eat at the Boardwalk Surf Buffet before I'd subject myself to their "food".

Again, just my opinion.

:D

Depends where on The Strip you're staying. Closest Pizza Hut to The Strip is at 3720 W Tropicana Ave # 15. I'm sure they will deliver, if you want the ultimate American pizza experience. No one goes to them, you call them and have them bring the pizza to you.

The buffets will have pancakes, and waffles, blintzes, bagels and all sorts of other fattening foods.

Tuesday night the Stardust buffet offers a complete line of Tex-mex food. We call it Tijuana Tuesday.

You won't starve, just load up at the salad bar, and eat plenty of rolls and breads.

OctoberMoon - Dennys in general or Dennys in Vegas??

I have been to loads of Dennys and never once had a problem.

Suppose it all depends on the personal experience.

Roll on those lovely pancakes

all of this kind of stuff will be easily found in the casinos on the strip. As far as starving? I'm also a pescatarian, and you will eat like a queen! As far as Pizza Hut goes, here are the ones in Vegas-none on the strip:

Pizza Hut Store:

1840 East Charleston Blvd.

Las Vegas, NV 89104

Phone: (702)385-9011

Map It! (1.41 miles)

Pizza Hut Store:

2509 E LAKE MEAD BLVD

North Las Vegas, NV 89030

Phone: (702)649-3333

Map It! (1.86 miles)

Pizza Hut Store:

825 N RANCHO DR

Las Vegas, NV 89106

You may be able to get them to deliver to your hotel. I would recccomend the "stuffed crust" pizza-it's REALLY cheesy and bad for you! YUM!!!

Meg -

I've only eaten in So. Cal. Denny's but I'm assuming they're kind of like McDonalds in that if you've eaten in one you've eaten in them all.

In addition I used to be a waiter for Denny's. The fact that they use dehydrated hash brown potatoes disgusts me.

The Vegas Denny's might be an exception but I'd take the odds on Roulette before I'd bet on that.

OMG I've put on weight just reading these posts ; -)

Is there an International House of Pancakes in Vegas? (we are staying at the Mirage)

Can we get pizza delivered to our rooms?

and Krispy Kreme (sp?) .....in the UK you can only get them in Harrods I think (or Harvey Nichols, not sure). Apparently Madonna is a fan, although I doubt that is true, she probably lives on celery sticks....
