We are trying to book our wedding aniversary for June, and not sure which of the two hotel to stay. Has anyone stayed at any of these hotel, which one do you prefer and why. Any assistance would be appreciated.

They are both good mid-level hotels. You can't really go wrong either way.
If you can spend just a little bit more, check out the Venetian. It's a lot nicer and generally not too much more expensive.
Mazletov.
I've stayed at both and found the Monte Carlo to be quite boring. Last time we were in Vegas we did a walk through of the Monte Carlo and it was pretty dead and outdated seeming. Mind you, it really depends on what you're looking for.

Yeah about two or three times more why not?
I also have problems with the statement "Outdated" used to describe MC because it is slightly newer than Luxor. If that means modern architecture versus classic elegance, then OK. But MC rooms are nicer, service is better, and more elegant IMO.
I have never stayed at the Luxor so I cannot comment on their rooms. I have however, stayed at the Monte Carlo twice and I am going back in July, coincidently for my anniversary. I think the MC has quiet elegance and is not too overwhelming. They have a great pool, comfy beds, nice size deluxe rooms, wonderful restaurants and no attractions (fountains, volcanos, rollercoasters) that will draw countless people through the hotel.
Godd luck choosing and happy anniversary.
Jessica,
I've stayed in both, and I would vote for the Monte Carlo. The regular room at the MC is nicer than the suite I had at the Luxor. Compared to the Luxor, the MC has more comfortable beds, the food choices are better, and the pool area has a lazy river. Granted, the Luxor does have an IMAX movie theater.
Often the Venetian isn't a lot more. Often it is ... won't hurt to check it out.
Thanks everyone, Luxor and Montecarlo seems to be the only decent hotels in our price budget. Would love to stay at the Venetian or Bellagio, but unfortunatey for the 8 days it will cost over $2,200, for the room alone.
We just want somewhere with a good party atmosphere, not too quiet but still devent (i suppose no one go to vegas for a quiet holiday). I thought the Luxor being at the end of the strip might be too quiet, and maybe Monte Carlo being in the middle of the strip will have a better atmosphere. I wouldnt mind a lower class hotel if the atmosphere is good. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks
Hi Jessica,
Are you booking your hotel and flights separately or as a package? My husband and I are staying at the Luxor for 14 nights in October and the whole cost was just over 1600.That's going with Direct Holidays. If you look at their website you may be able to get a good deal. They fly direct from Manchester, not too sure if they do from the London area.
Good Luck

For less money you can get a nicer room by going off The Strip to the Orleans. A lot of their rooms have incredible views of the entire West side of the Strip.
VegasMan
Is there a shuttle that runs from the Strip to the Orleans and where would I get it from.I've never been there but I keep reading good reviews about the place so I might pay a visit this year.
Thanks
