I'm starting to have "traveler's remorse" or it may be due to all these hormones (LOL, I'm preg) I don't know but I'm starting to second guess myself on this whole Vegas trip. Our flight leaves at 10am tomorrow but more some reason I'm feeling like I'm not going to have any fun or that Vegas will suck. I've basically never been (once when I was like 7 y/o) so I don't really know what to expect....I guess I just need some reassurance.

Well, the odds [no pun intended] are in your favor. Nearly everyone finds something at least they enjoyed about their LV trip. I will say though, that being pregnant in the heat won't be alot of fun. But you can hang out at the pool, and stay in the A/C in the casion. If you like shows, heck there's lots of 'em. You might also get lucky, and an artist you like may be in concert.

If you: don't like cities, don't like crowds etc; in other words your idea of a vacation is to get some isolation from civilization, then yes, it's going to suck to be you...

If you are still in your first trimester and are queasy/extremely tired/etc, etc. then I hate to tell you this but you will not enjoy Vegas. At least the noisy, action-packed Strip part. There are so many fast-moving people, smells, smoke, alcohol, partying kids all around that it might just be more irritating than anything.

If that's the case then I'd advise staying on a property that is off-Strip, such Alexic Park or Jockey Club, which offer more apartment-like villas versus a hotel casino.

On the other hand, if you are past that phase where you aren't so queasy and tired, you can still enjoy it. A pregnant woman loves good meals, and you can find delicious food in almost every variety there. Lots to do other than drinking and gambling too - the shark excursion at Mandalay Bay, the lions at Mirage or MGM, the 3D movies at Luxor, the Titanic Expedition at Tropicana, etc. And remember all the millions of choices of shows too!

Let us know how it goes.

Rachel-

You made a mistake and I really don't think you will have any fun at all since you are pregnant.

The heat is unbearable and you have to do SO much walking, not just up and down the strip, but also within the hotel itself. People underestimate the distance between hotels since they are so huge. They appear to be alot closer than they actually are.

Some of the casinos can be downright smoky you might just need an extra lung.

I just don't think Vegas is any place for kids....even the unborn.

I didn't want to go to Vegas when we paid our first visit so we only stayed 3 nights (Didn't arrive until about 9pm on the first day). I absolutely loved the place and we are now to return in September for 6 nights and I can't wait.

You don't say how far pregnant you are but I'm a fat git and I survived!!

If you pay attention to your wants and needs you can definitely enjoy a Vegas vacation!

If it looks too crowded to do something, make another choice. If you need to rest, go back to your room or book a spa treatment.

There are tons of fun things to do that don't require drinking, being in smokey clubs or casinos or hanging around in overwhelming crowds. If you want to hit the machines or tables, you could go in the mornings before the bulk of the smoking public arrives.

You'll definiely need to be prepared to do some walking, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes & clothing.

I'd also urge you to opt for taxis or rental cars to go any real distances outside. It sounds like shuttles & public transportation can be pretty crowded.

I honestly believe that anyone could have fun in Vegas, with the right attitude.

Enjoy!

Rachel,

You are going to have an awesome time! You are going to be so amazed with how beautiful all of the hotels are. I love to go and take everything in...people watch, gamble, go dine at nice restaurants etc. There is just so much to do. Don't worry! Just stay hydrated and put your feet up if they swell...you'll probably be doing LOTS of walking!
