Monorail Passes

I was wondering if the 3 day Monorail pass is worth it for $25. Has anyone bought one, and did you feel that you got enough use out of it? This will be my first time in Vegas (we leave tomorrow!!), and I have had warnings that walking from place to place can take awhile, not to mention be exhausting in the heat. Any input??

I would not use the monorail to get to the next casino, but if you're going 2 or 3 stops down it's worth the price. To get from the MGM to Hilton by cab would be $10. Do that 3 times and your $25 pass is a bargain. All depends on how far and how often you'll use it.

Depends on where you are staying.

if you are mid strip---Bally's, Monte Carlo- You have easy walks to other close casinos. If you are located at the MGM area (SOUTH end) or Sahara area, (NORTH end) get a 3 day pass for mobility.

carry a bottle of water when walking.

We'll be at IP (yeah I know, we cheaped out). Would the monorail be necessary from this location? We thought we might want to travel to Stratosphere at the end of the strip.

I was wondering this too. I think the wife and I are looking at staying at the Strats. This is a spur of the moment trip (less than a month) and even though I dont care for the location its a great value. Since we will be at the very end of the strip if we are wanting to get to the other end of the strip it would be worth it??? My wife has not been to Vegas in 11 years so I am sure she wants to see the sights

I've stayed at IP during New Year's Eve and Bally's during July 4th in years past. We walked both times to almost every place we went. The exception included the Stratosphere and downtown only because of the POTENTIAL for less than desirable "characters". (We tend to be overly cautious in a different city). But we walked to the south end both times. No...I take that back...it was too hot during July 4th.

We stayed at the Strat in April and used the monorail daily, although to be honest we only ever bought the single $3 tickets. However, we found it to be reliable, quick, clean and for only one pound and fifty pence in REAL money, quite cheap. Oh, and we never had to tip the driver.

One more thing, Pixi....IP is just fine. It was my first time in Vegas and I loved the whole experience when taken in total. But...you have to make sure you provide a Trip Report. I was planning a trip next week and had to cancel...so I want to hear about yours since I can't be there! K?

Thanks for the reassurance, NV Bound. I was getting a little worried about the IP, but it's too late to change my mind I guess. I was thinking about calling and requesting one of the newly renovated rooms, though.

I'm sorry to hear you had to cancel your trip. I will definitly report upon arrival (or sobriety, whichever comes first).

PIXI____ Request a room way up, 15 + floor, so u have a view. #15141 faces east in the morning for a beautiful sunrise.

Shade in the afternoon. Sit on the balcony and read or count your winnings. # 15140 will over look the swim pool. no view of the strip. Strip view rooms have a limited view of strip due to Harrahs and flamingo casinos.

you will enjoy your selection.
