Bellagio, Wynn or Palazzo?
Save

Hi,

My husband and I are starting to plan a trip to Las Vegas for early next year - we've never been before. We're fussy about accommodation and want the best but at the same time want somewhere central, it's also inmportant for us to have a nice pool area. Which of the above hotels would you recommend and why - or is there somewhere else that we should consider?

Thanks in advance!

If you are considering Wynn you should also consider its sister property Encore which just opened at the end of last year. All the hotels that you are talking about have good pool areas which are fancy and large. The Palazzo's pool though seems to have lots of shade, which you may or may not like.

I have stayed at all three properties and have enjoyed my stays, but Bellagio was a long time ago. Wynn was at the Tower Suites portion which was very nice- good service, and the rooms were flawless with no damage. Palazzo has good service also and has large and spacious rooms which have plenty of features in them.

If you are interested I wrote about the Palazzo on my blog at the links below. Plenty of photos:

Thanks for the links and the great coverage on the Palazzo. If you were heading back to Vegas would you choose the Palazzo over Wynn Encore and the Bellagio?

Bellagio is the most central of the 3. The lakeview rooms are wonderful & can't believe anyone would complain about staying in one(but they have). The pool area @ Bellagio is very nice with a nice little restaurant where I had a good reasonably priced breakfast 1 morning.

I stay somewhere different each trip so I can make my own opinions & am definitely looking @ Palazzo in the future. I don't think you could go wrong with any of those 3.

Thanks, Keith. Sorry two other questions, how far a walk is it from Wynn to centre of the srtip/Bellagio? I've read one reviewer say it's a taxi ride to the centre of the strip. As far as comp drinks go when on slot machines are any of the suggested hotels more generous than others?

If you want central you can't get much better then the Bellagio, along with its luxurious pool grounds, great restaurants the Hotel is a class act. The Std rooms are a bit smaller then those od the Wynn and Palazzo.

Book a Lake view Fountain room and you will be very happy..

The Wynn is also a tremendous Hotel with great pool grounds that are shared with its sister hotel the Encore. The Wynn has some of the finest restaurants in town along with larger Std rooms. The Wynn and Encore are located a bit North on the strip. The Wynn is IMO the class of the strip.

The Palazzo, beautiful hotel closer to mid strip, great Std rooms, class act Hotel with some great restaurants. The Palazzo shares the upper level of the Venetian with its sister Hotel, Palazzo pools grounds are not as nice IMO as those of the Wynn and Bellagio but still a high end class Hotel.

Each Hotel has its pros and cons but each one will satisfy your needs..

If you look at this picture you will see in the background two buidings the same in shape, those are the Encore on the left and the Wynn on the right. Next to the Wynn, on the right again you see the Palazzo. This picture was taken from the Mirage with is North of the center strip Bellagio.

Wynn - less kids, important to us. So waht if it's not as "central" as Bellagio - it doesn't have to be since most "central" properties are older and run-down. Central location is overrated, you can get anywhere from any of your options, even the center of the strip.

Palazzo (or Venetian) next choice, Bellagio last. P's basic rooms are the best, I like the Wynn's overall ambience more, and, as I said, less kids - although in the winter not as much as a factor.

Your dates will help us help you. If spring or after, no question Wynn (or Encore)

How early next year? The pool probably won't be a factor Jan-mid-March.

I agree with the above two posters. I've had great stays in all 3 but Wynn was the better overall property and experience imo. North strip is where we prefer to spend most of our time, so i don't consider distance from centre strip to be a negative. If you do go with Bellagio treat yourself to a lakeview room, beautiful view and very romantic.

Ex Kingsgrove resident here, so you know you can trust me, lol.

You want the best? Stay at Wynn.

I've stayed at Bellagio and Wynn, and in a couple of months I've booked Palazzo.

Wynn Tower Suites is the only 5 star rated of those 3.

Pool area is very nice:

Vegas is so huge, you're not going to be able to see it all in one trip.

If you stay at the Wynn, you can circle your way down to Bellagio, then cross over and find your way back to Wynn. That circle alone will take you a good 5 days or so to see most of the great stuff to view!

Fussy?

The service at the Wynn is surpassed by no other.

Depending on when you're coming, the pools may or may not be usable. Depending on your tolerance for cold, it's really not great pool weather until sometime in April.

RE: comped drinks, note that Wynn/Encore don't comp drinks at the bar while you're playing VP. They do have drink service while you're playing on the floor, like everyplace else. I always point out this deficiency.
