really, no refrigerators or microwaves?

I've been looking at a lot of different hotels and I have to admit I am shocked how many don't have refrigerators or microwaves. Well, maybe not microwaves, but at least give me a mini fridge to keep some water, beer and leftovers! At a lot of the hotels I've researched you have to upgrade to a suite for even a chance at a fridge. It seems silly but I will probably nix a hotel for just this reason since they only seem to offer them in suites with extreme nightly rates. Forget their minibars too - I'm not paying those prices!

Anyone feel the same? Or do you buy a cooler or opt for room temperature drinks?

It would be nice to heat leftovers - but at least in the Flamingo GO rooms - there are refrigerators. Vegas doesn't want you in you room eating and drinking. They're not going to make money that way.

You can buy a styrofoam or cheap cooler for under $10 at few locations on the strip. It's just the way it is. Drinks are cheap enough if you scout it out, or free if you're gambling, so I don't use much in-room drinking time.

I feel your pain. From what I hear no coffee makers either. It does not matter that much to me because I could drink room temp soda or water, but the husband plans on buying beers when we arrive. So we are planning to bring a collapsible cooler with us. The one we have folds down and takes up almost no space. I imagine if you did not want to you could by a disposable cooler while there.

If there is a particular hotel you are interested in, phone them to see if they have small fridges that they can bring to your room.

It's not unusual for hotels to not have these things - especially in Vegas, where they are giving discounted prices (relatively speaking!) hoping this is offset by your gambling time down in the casino - they don't want folks in their rooms. Hence, the "no coffee pots" either, which I always found more surprising than the no fridge.

We aren't in the room much, so just fill the ice bucket for mixed drinks or soda if we do want something. Probably wouldn't take my left overs from a meal even if we did have a fridge...we usually aren't close to our room and wouldn't carry it around.

Very true...the hotels really don't want you in the room! Guess when I'm paying $200+ a night I expect things that just aren't the norm in Vegas!

If a fridge is very important to you, most hotels will bring one up to you for a small charge (occassionally complimentary). I believe they all try to keep some on hand for guests who need to keep medications refrigerated. I'm sure if you call the hotel you are interested in booking, they could tell you their policy. Have a great trip!

TI is the only hotel/casino on the Strip that has a fridge in ALL of their rooms. But they do not have a micro. If this is really important to you, many of the timeshare/condos off-strip have both.

Well I used to think the Aria Minibars were over priced but it wasn't terrible when I stayed there in Sept. Beer was around $6-7 which was in line with the prices of beer at bars.

As for the mini fridge most hotels don't provide mini fridges unless you are in a suite. I rarely see microwaves unless it's a time share type of property.

Now you can request a fridge be brought up to your room at some hotels but there is a fee for it. It's typically around $50.

I feel your pain, but for us, we have no need for either a fridge or a microwave. We are only in the room to shower and sleep. So if not having a fridge/microwave in the room means they can charge us $1 less/night, I'm all for it!

Like others have said, if it's a big deal to you, just request one when you check in.
