Afternoon Tea
Save

Hello all, heading out in September for our honeymoon. 6th visit for me and looking for different things to try. I had a thought about talking the wife for afternoon tea, was thinking of either the Petrossian Bar in the Bellagio or the Tea Lounge in the Mandarin Oriental. Anyone have a preference? Anywhere else I should consider? Will we need to book or just rock up if we're passing? Thanks in advance

You won't get anywhere better than Tea Lounge at MO and I would make a reservation.

Why not do both?

A reservation would be a good idea:)

Verandah at Four Seasons has a pretty nice afternoon tea.

Mandarin Oriental would be my choice. For what it's worth, both times I've been there I've shown up without a reservation and it was no problem. But both times were midweek when there were no major events in town. Your mileage may vary........ :-)

Thanks for posting this question... I've been thinking about a way to spend my alone time in LV while boyfriend is getting his massage at Monte Carlo and this sounds perfect! Would going alone be acceptable? In any case, thanks for sparking the idea....

I've had afternoon tea at both Bellagio and Mandarin Oriental. The experience at Mandarin Oriental was more sophisticated and serene. The Petrossian Bar is nice and its different to have the casino around, but the lounge area set aside for the tea is very small and not too far from noisy slot machines. It's different to have tea in such an atmosphere, but it's not everyone's cup of tea (pardon the pun). Tea at the Mandarin Oriental was more of a relaxing classical afternoon tea experience with excellent service.

Emmas reply is exactly why we've never tried the Tea at Bellagio. The idea of experienceing a relaxing tea on a casino floor just does not appeal to me. You will also note that the fine dining in the nicer hotel/casinos is also separate from the casino.

We have however experienced Afternoon Tea at Verandah and Mandarin Oriental. Mandarin Oriental's Tea is served on the 23rd floor, with an excellent view. Even if you are not seated near the window, there are areas where you can walk over and enjoy this. It is certainly more serene than Tea at Bellagio, and I would highly recommend it.

Ridiculous question - but have to ask. Does the tea room at MO sell coffee as well? While I'm at it, what's the (round number) cost for this type of excursion. What can I expect to shell out for the wife to have some tea, and myself to have some coffee. Thanks.

I was in Vegas just 2 weeks ago and experienced my first high tea I wanted to go to the MO unfortunately they were booked the day we wanted to go. I ended up taking my mother in law to the tea t the Bellagio. I love the Bellagio but the tea their was lacking. Our "view" was that of the casino floor. You could smell the cigarette smoke, hear the machines and yelling from the tables that were nearby. Not part of the experience I was hoping for.The service was OK, the sandwiches and desserts were good but I wouldn't go back.

Patriot: At Mandarin Oriental you may either order items a la carte or order a Tea Service which includes items typical of Teas (scones, finger sandwiches, desserts).

I believe the Tea Service is at MO is around $35. But this is quite filling, so I recommend that you consider it lunch.
