Hi Daisy,

I checked the reviews a while ago and one that caught my eye was where the reviewer seemed to be complaining that Mauritian people were actually staying at the hotel and seemed to be blaming them for everything from tummy bugs to taking over the pool.

Personally I would ignore such reviews, they are too personal. All the DEs were shocked at that review.

Maritim is a lovely hotel.

You just cant please some people.

Take care,

Bronia :)

Hi Daisy

I would agree with Bronia, this is a good hotel, I know someone who got married here a couple of years ago and said it was fantastic, hard to believe it could have changed that much!! In my opion that latest review is probably best being ignored.

The odd bad review does happen with all hotels. As they say you can't please all the people all of the time.

Best wishes

Mazza :-)

This hotel seems to be suffering from rogue reviews. Two recent reviewers have complained that the price of a room varies on occupancy levels.

You do not have to be Sherlock Holmes to realise that is standard practice in the travel industry. One reviewer was unhappy that locals were staying in the hotel and then seem to blame them for food poisoning!

We were there during Christmas, which was our 4th visit to the Maritim. Being a repeat guest you can't help comparing your previous visits, this would happen in any hotel. There are a few minor changes to where you can eat during b/fast and lunch (on the AI), but overall the positive improvements to the hotel far outweigh the extremely minor negatives. These changes obviously only effect the morale of the repeat guest, as people visitng for the first time would be none the wiser!

We are already looking at prices to return, so the recent reviews certainly have not deterred us from going back again!

Fabulous place, fabulous staff and any one going there will have a fabulous time!!!

Hi,

Please ignore all the negative reviews - we got married there 8 weeks ago; spent 17 days at the Maritim and can honestly say is was the best hotel we have ever stayed at - the rooms, the food, the staff were fantastic. There will always be someone at a hotel that wants a different holiday to you - i.e. we wanted peace and quiet - but a larger party with kids will be louder and more active - but the hotel is so big, with so much to do, there is room for everyone.

Have a great holiday

My husband and I are going to the Martim on 5 February and like Daisy I was getting quite concerned about the most recent reviews but your entries have put my mind at rest. I will write a full review when I get back.
