Don't worry. That review is a four liner by a new member and this is their only contribution to TA.

You get the odd reviews like that and frankly they are best ignored if the majority of reviews are generally positive.

If we were all put off by odd bad reviews we wouldnt book anywhere.

Silver Beach is 3* so don't expect 5* accomodation, but that review is way OTT.

What you could do is PM others who have been and ask them for their opinion if it helps?

I've done that myself when I had concerns about a hotel and found people reply. They are generally happy to share their experience and give advise.

I second Bronia on this one. Whenever I see a "suspect" review I always check out their TA history. I see this one is 1 contribution.

Best to take the general average of all the reviews and see where that leaves you. One mans meat is another mans poison so to speak.

Re Silver Beach Mauritius - THIS IS A LOVELY HOTEL, take it from us, yes it is a bit tired in places but... read the post from Bonchurch58 who was there at the same time as us in December. We are from York so near you, and we have been all over the world and stayed in top hotels where the service is not a patch on Silver Beach. The food is lovely, I have never stayed in a cleaner hotel and the staff fall over themselves to get you whatever you want. The food is good, excellent at times, and we know and love our food. Recommend if you are a tea and coffee person, take tea bags and coffee, we took jugs of milk to our room (complete with fridge full of free beer and soft drinks!) I am new to Tripadvisor but am going to try to find time to post about this hotel, it deserves it. Where else have you asked to keep your room for 7 hours extra after checkout time and not been charged? And they even brought clean towels AFTER we were supposed to have checked out! Yes it is a bit tired in places, the price you pay reflects that, but then it is value you should be concerned about. Le Tousserok it is not, good value it certainly is!

hi chrismart i would agree with Bronias post,we have recently booked to return in may of this year,had a fantastic time no problems/complaints 1st time round,nobody would return to a "disgusting" would they ? have a fab time [youwill] jude60

I am off to Silver Beach tomorrow - based on the reviews it has had here. I ignored the 'disgusting' post as as far I am concerned the poster doesn't mention any evidence really of why they say that and everyone else has written good reviews. I'll post a review when I get back - but I am sure it will be great!
