Where do you recommend for dining in Durham. I'd appreciate suggestions...Preferably no chain restaurants, no noisy settings...would like light fare, no breaded or fried foods...seafood is appreciated especially if prepared in creative ways. I guess that's the key to my preferences...creative food preparation and attractive, colorful presentations. I'm a pretty good cook myself so when I go out to eat I don't want something mundane and ordinary but something that I couldn't prepare easily at home.

George's Garage is crowded, noisy, and overrated. Good luck trying to have a conversation over dinner.

I'll add Another Thyme.

I've also heard that Rue Cler is real good.

I love Nana's and Pop's!

We also had a nice meal at Vin Rouge on 9th street.

I like Pop's and Cafe Parizade. Both have very good handcrafted food by good chefs. Both can also get noisy on a busy night. Neither has a chain restaurant feel.

I also like Tyler's Tap Room. It's located in downtown Durham in the Durham Bulls Ballpark.
