Just got back from a two week lads holiday in sunny beach! Had a fantastic holiday great laugh met loads of interesting people, from german to turkish to norwegian, swedish....and of course Bulgarian! They tend not to understand the scottish accent thou so beware haha! I'll talk you through sunny b bit bye bit!

First of all.....

Hotel

We Stayed at the kalofer Hotel in Sunny Beach, overall we found it a crackin hotel, rooms were nice clean, and maids came in every 2nd day, they also give u a wee thing to put on the door at night coming home if you dont want them to wake you in the morning! Air Con wsnt brilliant...but was effective on our kind of holiday thou it didnt reeli matter, and beware mini bar IS your fridge which is rather small and can be quite annoying, we just took all the stuff out the mini bar and moved it aside stuck our water beer etc in it, the rooms also have digi tv which we found crackin watched a cupla crackin films, whislt playin poker and drinking! The facilities in the hotel are good, we played loadsa pool and tabletennis which the bar staff hjoined in, and it was 3lev an hour.....£1! You get a comfertable bathroom with a nice hot shower! and the prices are dirt cheap in hotel, 3lev a large beer, 3.50lev a cocktail...cant complain, food in hotel was roughly 4lev a pizza, pasta etc! pool area is crackin big enough and music banging all day....all these rubbish reviews saying drunk people lying about in vomit....rubbish, it is an 18-30'S Hotel with a 24hour bar, if you do not wish to see drunk young lads and gals do NOT book this place!

Prices Overall

Sunny Beach is a very cheap place....during the day, but not as cheap as everyone thinks, it has gone up dramtically, i took £700 for 2 weeks and was a perfect amount, if your thinking aww its dirt cheap i can take 30lev for a night out, dont, the moiney goes so quick trust me, in clubs you can pay up to 12lev for a drink, and 19lev for jack daniels, the only way u'll have a cheap night out is if you stick to bulgarian beer, Zogorka or karmenitza...which is very nice btw, but i got totally sick of it after 1 week! I would say if your going with a family you could probably get away with 500 for two weeks, food at night is Dirt Cheap, you can have a sublime meal at around 8quid including starter main course 2drinks. Every Club is about 5 lev in....

Nightlife

Sunny B has ....goodish....nightlife if your going to this place like we have after being at malia or zante or magaluf, u'll get a shock, dont get me wrong we had 14 crackin nights out, but we found places like Lazur, Club Mania...rather quite intimidating! lol, club mania is a bulgarian HEAVY dance club, and beleeve me thats what it is it is amazing, but everyone is out there face on drugs and you cant move a muscle, lazur is good but it is full of guys,,,,which obviuosly didnt suit us, and has no british which yet again made us find it hard to sorta go with the crowd, Disco Orange is full of german punters, good club good music but we found it boring after 1 or 2 nights, Club Viking was crackin but yet again full of scandinavians, we were lucky enough to have a big crowd with us so we had a blast, but any big groups of brittish lads hoping to pull in these clubs...u'll find it difficult, the best place we found to go which we went to most nights was Club Iceberg, live band that play uptodate tunes, crackin DJ and a big brittish mix, cheap booze aswell, 4lev a vodka redbull, 5lev jackd n coke, and 2lev a beer! the best bars we experienced were the corner bar,,,,sucha cool place gotta try it honestly, barmaids walk about in wee blue dresses, and the seats are immence, and we went in loadsa random ones on the pub crawl! Thing is with Sunny B you can go out at 2am and its still early ovetr there, people are party mad, earliest we went out was 1am no joke!

Crime

All these reviews about sunny b being crime ridden are absolute rubbish, we did have the unluckyness for 2 of our friends getting mugged, but 1st time our mate dissapered himself and was walking about at 7.30am, lost his phone and chain.....obviuos target thou, and our other mate was down at the beach at 5am with a ladyfriend;) and some wee ratbag ran off with his wallet that had 30lev in it! but apart from that we enver had any problems WOTSOEVER, if you get mugged in sunny b, its because you go wandering off at stupid hours in an eastern european country yourself, you are one of the most unfortunate people in the world, or you have absolutely no commonsence,,,,the place is mafia run thou, and i dont think a police force exists over there but they all keep themselves to themselves unless you go looking for it, and word of warning DONT use the taxi's ever! But it is honestly very safe, be sernsible and stay in a group, its just like anywhere else, greece spain etc...

Food

Food was terrific althou be warned they do cook it differently a few of my mates had weird stomachs by the end of hour holiday....didnt stop them drinking thou ;), best place we found to eat was Condor, we went there 4 times....cheapest place in sunny beach 6 of us had starters main course 3 beers each and it was 77lev....32quid, djannys was ok wsnt what uit was raved up to be thou, food was dry, bombay grill indian, probably the most expensive place u'll eat but worth it...reelli terrific food, if you read in reviews the food is rubbish.....honestly its alot of balls, unless the cooked us all these wonderful meals specially for us coming over!

Overall - somelastmin tips!

Overall in Sunny Beach we had a fantastic holiday, it reeli is a beautiful place, oh yeah forgot....the ebach is probably the finest beach u'll ever see in ur puff! sand is gloriuos....and quite a few topless ladys haha! Nah but as 6 lads aged 21-22 looking for 18-30 it was absolutely brilliant, we had a brilliant night out every time. cheap, met loads of people, some crazy booze sessions! we still have 10 mates over there the now! i would recommend sunny beach to anyone...dunno if i'll go back next year but defo at some point!
