Let me start by thanking all of the people, especially the locals, who have submitted reviews and/or comments on this Forum.
This was our second summer vacation to HHI and after the last year we had a better feel for the island. We are not really a couple who go the beach but that is one of the things that brought us back. Finding places can be a challenge but the secluded feel with the lush greenery is part of the charm of the island.
We stayed at the same location as we did last year, which was the Anchorage at Shelter Cove. The condo is very comfortable with a view of the lagoons and short walk to the pool. Its location was convenient to the harbor area and the Palmetto Dunes beach.
We ate out only for Dinner and went back to some of the places we enjoyed last year along with some other new choices. We especially enjoyed Bistro 17 and Wiseguys as some of the new choices and went back twice. We also dined at Alexander’s, The Studio, Eats, and Giuseppi’s. I did a review on the restaurants in the travel guide section.
Our vacation consisted of a little golf, bike rides on the many paths and beach, along with beach time. We usually went to the beach in the early afternoon and stayed until 5 or 6 o’clock. It did not seem as crowded then with a low tide that expanded the beach area.
Hope this helps someone else as the reviews/forums on Trip Advisor have helped us create an enjoyable and relaxing vacation.
