I have a 2 hour layover at IAH, anyone have experience with BUBBAS and HARLONS food, or have better ideas?
Harlons is average (what I would call mall) bar-b-que. Its a step up from say McDonalds, but nothing I would want to call typical of Houston or Texas.
No experience with Bubbas (sorry).
I seem to recall there being a Pappadeux's restaurant in terminal D (which is accesible easily from terminal C). Good cajun/seafood here but you might wait depending on when your layover is.
Which terminal will you be doing your layover in? (or which airline since I assumed Continental)
I think there is a Pappasito's there (mexican) I'd recommend them. Of course, airport food is never going to be as good as the real restaurant....
I have seen Harlon's serve dried out food to customers. When the customers complained that the food was inedible, the Harlon's folks shrugged.
Went through IAH yesterday. Pappadeux's at terminal E looks like a good bet. There is also a fast food court at terminal E.
Hi,
I’m a huge fan of Pappasito’s located on FM1960, we just don’t get good Tex-Mex in Boston, yet. The Pappasito’s at IAH is very good for an airport place (which is very rare) and they have a decent menu.
Also at IAH, there is a Chinese takeout across from Pappasito’s that is decent. (By the time I get to the airport on Fridays, I’ve had more than my share of Mexican)
