I want to spend a Sunday seeing the Golden Gate bridge and park and am trying to work out the best way to get here from around the Embarcadero BART? After the park/bridge we plan to walk through haight ashbury to japantown/alamo sqaure and they trying to find our way back to Embarcadero again. Any ideas?

26 helpful votes You are starting from the Embarcadero BART station, right? You know that BART only goes down Market and across the bridge and doesn't serve the rest of the city, right?
OK. SF has a great Municipal public transportation System which includes buses and trolleys on Market Street and etc.
There is a website where you can go and plan your trips using Muni.
Try this. It is a trip planner. I have not used it, but it looks great. Simbot or somebody else who actually lives in the city can tell you about it.
