My husband and I are headed to Gettysburg next week. On 1 day of our trip, we plan to go from Gettysburg to Antietam, and then to Harpers Ferry. Any suggestions on getting there from Antietam?

Just went to MapQuest and zoomed in. Road runs direct south out of Antietam into Harpers Ferry. Couldn't find a route number but when zoomed in it came up as Harpers Ferry Road.

How many days are you spending at Gettysburg? We hit it one day on a trip north to MA. Thought a quick drive through would be enough. Wrong. Good two days of stuff to see. Spent five hours on their 21/2 hour tape tour but still missed a lot.

We're going to be in Gettysburg a total of 4 complete days. We're arriving on a Sunday and leaving on a Friday, so for Mon - Thurs., we'll have the whole day to do sightseeing. I have heard from several people that it is easy to do Gettysburg in 2-2 1/2 days, so we thought we'd spend 1 of the days in Antietam and Harpers Ferry.

You can take the US 15 south through Frederick Maryland and follow the signs to Harpers Ferry.

You will want to take the 81 south towards Hagerstown MD to Antietam. I live in Gettysburg and I take a back way to Hagerstown through Emmitsburg MD.

Stop at any of the visitors centers and they can provide directions.
