For those of you who have seen both shows, which did you like better? Which would you recommend?
My husband and I are visiting NYC with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law in August to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. We're going to the Yankees game on Saturday afternoon and want to see a show on Friday night. We're all flexible and no one has a strong preference of what they'd like to see. I'm responsible for planning this part of the trip.
I understand that Book of Mormon is pretty much sold out, but I did find tickets (albeit expensive!) on broadwaybox.com. This show really has my interest peaked, but I don't know if I really want to spend over $200 per ticket to see it. That being said though, this is a special occassion trip and I want to do it right. We've only been to one Broadway show before (Mama Mia) and I really don't know when we'll do this again.
Others have recommended Avenue Q instead, so I'm wondering if we should just maybe go this route.
So, if you anyone has seen both and can give their recommendation, I'd really appreciate it. Or, if you've just seen Book of Mormon, do you think it's worth it to splurge on tickets for this show and for this occassion?
Sorry that this got kind of long. I really appreciate all of the info on this forum! So helpful! I'll be back for sure once I decide on a show and will be looking for restaurant recommendations near the theater...) :)
