My husband and I will be in Manhattan this week. We are planning to walk the Brooklyn Bridge one of the days. We have made reservations at The River Cafe for lunch after the walk. While the restaurant looks marvelous, I'm afraid I have booked too many high end "safe" places for our visit. While I know all these places I have booked will feed us a fabulous meal, I'm afraid we will miss the local flavor. If we walk into Brooklyn Heights, what would be some recommendations for local good food? My husband and I are both foodies, but we tend to stay on the American or French end of the food chain as opposed to the Asian or Italian end, but we are always open. Should we go local or stay with the safe River Cafe? Decisions, decisions!
