Hi--

Was hoping for a bit of help--I am planning a summer vacation (me, wife, 2 kids 17 and 15) for August 2008. Thought we might fly into Chicago on 8/2 and spend 5 nights there, then rent a car and head south to spend a few days in Springfield/New Salem to see the historic sites. A few guidbooks I read pointed out some maybe interesting/quirkly palces to see on the trip south, so I figured we might take the better part of a day to drive from Chicago to Springlfield. My plan was to spend the night in Springfield, get up the next day and head to New Salem in the morning. Look around there, maybe take a boat ride, and then head back to Springfield and visit the Lincoln tomb, maybe his house/law office if we have time. Next day go to the house/law office, etc. if we missed it the previous day, and then head to the museum. Planned on spending 3-4 hours there, before we checked out and headed to St. Louis. Too much time? Not enough? Any suggestions on things I need to makesure I see or places I might want to eat? Thanks!
