We are planning on camping in the Springfield area for 2-3 nights in July. Was wondering if anyone could give me some input on which campgrounds are nice around this area. We usually look for something maybe a little ways out of town w/ trees and maybe a pool. Would we need to make reservations? Thanks in advance!

This is a fun little campground near Lake Springfield, it is a heck of a drive to get there, but worth it. It seems to fill the bill for what you want, it has a pool and nice mature trees.

Last year we stayed at Double J in Chatham with some friends who are frequent RV campers. It had a nice looking pool, and very mature trees. Plenty of space between each RV. I would think reservations would be a good idea.
