I am having my first week with 10pm closing and the second week half dry but there isn't anywhere else in the world I want to be for those 2 weeks.
TBH I am going to enjoy every minute of being in Goa whether I get a drink or not. I can get a beer at home, can't get everything else.
I am looking forward to having a giggle with a beer cuppa in a teapot, meeting up with some of the beach kids which I have seen growing up and catching up with Roy, our taxi driver and his family tales.
Bags get snatched every day somewhere in the UK and Saturday night is alright for fighting every week where I live.
Where else in the world can you see 2 parents and 3 kids off to school on one scooter. I am looking forward to going to a shack and when asked what I want to eat telling them to surprise me. I have found so many new dishes I love this way.
Can't wait to play the sign language game with the Russians in Honeys Bar and buy fruit for the orphans on the beach.
I have a silver ring a beach seller gave me, it's broken and scuffed a bit but was given to me by someone that has nothing, just because I gave her my unfinished toiletries and bought her a drink each day on the beach.
Goan's humble me with their generosity of heart and will do anything for you with a ready smile and a grace which we don't seem to have anymore.
I will get out of the airport with my usual 'must of gone to bed with a coat hanger in my mouth' grin and physically relax, after my manic clap of my hands because I am just so damn happy to be there.
Don't be put off first timers, it really is Incredible India, you will never forget it.
