We are going to Kos town at the beginning of September and we were planning to hire a car for a week. How much should we expect to pay and has anyone any advice or tips?
thanks I just made reservations with Hertz for carrental in May. Do I understand it correct that I have to return the car with an empty tank?
I would have thought you would have had to return it with the same amount of petrol that you take it with....If they give it to you empty at the Airport, there is a petrol station at the Airport....you can then fill it up...We have our own Rent A Car company and we work full to full, but because of the price of petrol now the big companies may have changed to empty to empty.....check with them when you take the car.
all the internet companies are offering a week's hire for amazingly cheap prices, but then there are the add ons.....the basic price includes 3rd party insurance so an excess of 500 euros...you then add on 7 or 8 euros a day for extra insurance, baby seats and boosters are also extra, 2nd driver extra, gps extra. not sure why you would need a gps on kos..one main road from Kos to Kefalos!!! and so on and so forth....go into Kos Explorer.com and check out the local car hire companies...they will usually deliver and pick up at the airport, they will take cash and no insist on a credit card, as they do not want to rip you off..You can send an e mail to all the local companies for their rates..weigh up all the pros and cons and book.
got back today,,we payed 60 euros for 2 days for a jeep
60 euros for two days jeep hire? where? what company?
