Can you get a private transfer from the airport to levi? If so can anyone recommend a company we can prebook with. Would prefer a private transfer as we will have two young children and luggage so the bus could be carnage!
Why would it be carnage? That's what most people will do. The bus waits you right outside the door of the terminal and will take you practically from door to door (especially if you are staying in the centre of Levi) for €7.50/adult or €4.00/child. Journey time will be more or less 15 min. Are you on a package tour or on DIY?
On a package tour you'll get the transfers from the tour operator. On DIY there's a bus meeting every scheduled flight (not charter flights). For other transport options see the airport's website: http://www.finavia.fi/airports/airport_kittila?pg=1091673 .
Apart from the bus the only sensible option is a taxi: http://levintaksi.com/cgi-bin/wafnet3.pl?id=271&kid=2 . A taxi will cost approx. €35 - 40.
Thank you, carnage is two small children and us carrying suitcases with them running round and the cold! We're going DIY.
the taxi is not too expensive, a few years back we got a taxi and it was something like €30 and 15 mins - the tourist office will be able to help you with taxi contact details so you can book it in advance or get the bus, its easy too
Thankyou will sort a taxi with the tourist office

try the above
Ask for a minivan type of a taxi if you have more than 3 suitcases. You can deal straight with the operators mentioned above.
I've ridden both several times, the bus is really a good option too. It does wait long enough for all passengers who want to ride it, drives very close to the doors of hotel Levitunturi (the on with the spa), Hullu Poro, Panorama & K5. Any amount of equipment fit aboard too.
But maybe the difference, about 20 euro, is worth spending. You get about 15 minutes faster to the hotel. I guess the trip will be long enough for the kids (and parents!) anyway.
