Dave
Hi Dave
Koutoularafi is a lovely relaxing village that runs into 2 other villages beside it - Piskopiano and Old Hersonnissos. You really wont go wrong in any of the restaurants they are all pretty good - our favrouites are Esperos (in Koutoulafari) and the Windmill and Pegasus in Piskopiano. For drinking, try Vinnes Roof top bar - very chilled out and relaxing.
Hi there
Yes, there are some very good restaurants in the villages. All I'd say is that if you do go down into Hersonissos, then the vast majority of restaurants there are awful and serve nothing that could be considered authentically Greek cooking.
Thanks for the replies guys, anymore would be welcome
Hi again Dave
You could head for the vuillage of Anissaras which is 3kms west of Hersonissos - there are a couple of very good restaurants there that won't break the bank yet service great Greek food. One is "The Greek Taverna" and is right on the beachfront, just up a little from the Captain's Bar, the second is "The Blumen Bar" and this is a little harder to find.
Take the seafront path towards Hersonissos and afer a few mins, you'll see a fork in the road with a large hotel to the right. Take the right fork and follow for another 10 mins, go around a couple of bends, past a bike hire place and a shop, and Blumen is there on the left. It's family run and serves amazing food.
Thanks again,
also i forgot to ask are there any ATM machines in the village?
None in the village last year but one one the main road were you turn up the hill at the Spar supermarket about 2kms
Hi again Dave
There must be a dozen ATMs along the main drag in Hersonissos so you shouldn't have any worries about accessing your cash.
Hi the nearest ATM is down the hill from the Marevea, about 500 yards on the left hand corner, it's the Emporiki Bank. There are others on the main road, but we this the nearest, and never let us down.
If you go up the hill to I can recommed the Gallini for a great meal out, and if you are passing the time of day the Mythos bar for a drink.
If you want a change from Greek food try the Vesuvius, walk down the hill from the Mareva, turn leftt walk all main road appox 400 yards until you can see the scuba shop on the main road on your right hand side, turn down here it is an excellent Italian.
There are regular greeks nights on at the Rustico, and also at other taverna's in Koutoloufari but haven't been to those.
Hope you have a great holiday

Hi there–
We are staying in Stalis in June and whilst we are there its our 1st wedding anniversary. I have been recommended by people on this forum that the best place to go for a meal for our anniversary would be Koutouloufari but which restaurants here would you recommend and say are the most romantic / special?
Many thanks
