Just packing for Yllas - booked through Inghams - just wondering do we need to take towels??
I am assuming our linen is provided - I know we should take tea towels, but how about hand/bath towels???
Thanks!!!!!!!
Not long now ! another thought - do we need matches to start our fire for those log fire nights, or are you even allowed to take those on a plane ? washing up liquid ?
This is such a different holiday for us and it feels strange not really knowing what to take !
they supply towels but what I have taken is
tea towel
dish cloth
a few dishwasher tabs - in case there are non there
we have also taken things like stock cubes, soup (as bricks of soup are really expensive there)
you wont matches etc
you can buy everything you need at the supermarket but take the essentials just so you dont have to sport out a load of money
also you will need to put your carrier bags on the conveyor belt at the check out as you have to pay for them and do take a sledge with you from your cabin to pull your shopping back but do make sure someone does not take your sledge as they often are taken - you will need a euro coin for the cart and I would suggest you find out what certain foods are in Finnish as sometimes it is hard to determine what something is from a package picture
to get alcohol,. you can get everything from the alco shop next to the supermarket and you can buy beer and cider in the supermarket as long as its below 5% (I believe)
Thanks Poe - very helpful - I have bought a finnish dictionary to take!
I don't know if you can pack matches Jenny, not sure! I am taking tea bags and fresh coffee but everything else we'll get there.
x
You're not allowed to pack matches in the checked luggage on the plane. Moreover, only one lighter is allowed per passenger - and even that has to be in the hand luggage.

I just got back yesterday with inghams and stayed in yllas in the cabins, you dont need anything, tea towels, bedlinen, shower towels, matches etc everything is there, just take yourself and your lugagge :) enjoy, its magical.
Thanks Helen - I am so excited to see all the snow and to read you have had a great time - was it the Fairytale Trip you did with kids ? x
We go to yllas on 21st what's the weather conditions out there for snow mobiles and reindeer rides etc
Reading lots of postings and looking at web cams etc, it appears everything is going as it should - have a great time
Posted a review of our trip on Lapland Forum.
Yllas Cabins wonderful, Inghams, flight and hotel meals not.
Matches and tea light candles there, washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, 1 toilet roll, towels but no tea towel or washing up sponge.
CD player, DVD player.
Lots of snow - wonderful having Narnia outside our window.
Enjoy !
