I read on a forum that the sledge hire is dear at the Yllas Saga, does anyone how much it is per day?
Thanks
Dave
there are two types of sledge, the kick sledge that you hire and is used mainly on the flat and you push someone about on and the other one is the normal sledge that you sit in, like a big cat litter tray - these you use for sledging about the hills etc and you should find them all about the resort for you to use, if you can't find one then you should be able to buy them for a few pounds
Thanks for the info, I will get one in resort. I was looking for some that would fit in my case but if they are really cheap I will buy some.
you will probably have to go round to the other side of the village to the supermarket to get one (if you want to buy one that is) otherwise you should find loads around the resort that you can use - if you do buy your own and use it whilst you are there be careful that other people do not take it and use it
if you have a costco card then they do have these great sledges that are like big surf boards for under £10 that take 2 people
Just got back and had a cracking time, paid €5 for the sledges for the duration of the stay. The hotel was excellent as was the resort albeit small. Food was not as expensive as some on here had quoted, €5 for a hamburger meal at Hesburger was very good, the pizza shop was cheap and the buffet and restaurant prices were not too dear.

Cheers for the info about the food prices, what did the beer , wine come in at, we are going in January. ps what was yhe snow situation thanks, Finnster.
There's plenty of snow in most places in Finland, min 40 cm in Lapland. Beer (in a pub/bar/restaurant) costs generally 5 - 6 EUR/pint (0.4 - 0.5 l). Wines from 5 - 6 EUR/12 cl or 7 - 8 EUR/16 cl and approx. 30 EUR/bottle (0.75 l) to what ever you are ready to pay for.
In shops Finnish beer costs ca 1.35 - 1.50 EUR/0.33 l can or bottle. In Alko stores red wines from 7 - 8 EUR and white wines 6 - 7 EUR/bottle up to what ever you are willing to pay.
