A beautiful hotel with great accomodations and staff. Food was fantastic, location was nice. Close to some activities, not too far from San Juan. The only complaint I have is the pressure to sit for the time share pitch.

I have to agree with others who said the restaurant choices were limited and over priced. We also had a problem with a fire alarm going off several times in the middle of the night. When we called the front desk to let someone in authority know no one ever answered. It seemed like there were a lot of worker bees at the hotel but no one of any real authority. The beach was disappointing but we did enjoy the pools and the spa. The taxi service was very expensive and everything was so far away. Overall, i think this resort has a lot of potential but they seem content to be mediocre. I would not recommend it to my friends because for the money it was not worth it.

I went here on my honey moon in nov. of 2006. We stayed at the Paradisius. It was all inclusive and wonderful. We got to go to the rain forest, relax on the beach.kayaking, torued the city. Went on a catameran and snorkeled we also saw the ocean change color to like a red when you put your hand or kayak paddle in the water. We had a lot of fun and felt extreamly safe there. I have heard alot of bad reviews on it being dirty here before we went. However, I foulnf that it was only dirty around the city like any city.. Also where the cruise ships come in. I thought the hotel was beautiful and very accomidating. The people who worked at the hotel were great as well. They were filed with information and very friendly. We couldn't have asked for any better.
Beautiful hotel and great service, the rooms were very clean. The pools were great as were the restaurants. The environment was very nice. The hotel experience overall was expensive but fabulous, I will love to stay here again!

Ok the Gran Melia was a beautiful hotel however there are things you should know while staying at the resort. First of all, when you get there if you've booked through Cheapcarribean.com MAKE CERTAIN that the resort applies your RESORT CREDIT if applicable or else they will nickle and dime you for everything while staying at the resort. That's the only issue my husband and I had was them charging you for everything and not disclosing that you may or may not have credit to use while visiting. Also, Hector was great!! He's very professional and has a good attitude and know's the hotel, and area quite well. While in your room DO NOT PICK UP ANYTHING FROM THE FRIDGE OR BAR as they have sensors on each item and once you remove the item, your room is automatically charged!!!! The Royal Service is great as we had the pleasure of being in the VIP suites of the hotel. Overall, I would say we had a great stay the hotel is beautiful and well kept.
