It may have been raining our first day at The Plaine, but Stephanie Hill, our host, made the sun shine with her sparkling personality and wit, as she served a classic English breakfast to my husband and me. Tummies filled daily, we embarked on forays of discovery around Bath, an area of incomparable beauty and historic encounters.

Our room and bath were not only welcoming but far exceeded our American expectations. Bed and pillows -- perfect. Linens -- just right. Little extras -- all there. We were simply spoiled!

So, if you are seeking the experience of a picture perfect English village with a truly magnificent village pub (The George) and an exceptional base from which to explore and enjoy it all. . .stay at The Grange.

Beautiful setting and the hotel was fab. Rooms with four poster beds and everything that you need. Breakfast cooked by Giles and served by Stephanie with good banter!

Local knowledge really good and very helpful.

Would definately recommend to friends.

The George is literally 2 dozen paces from the front door, where the food and drink is excellent, perhaps too good!

“The Great Escape”

Superb location, very picturesque village and Stephanie and Giles were excellent hosts. Breakfast absolutely spot on, rooms were immaculate, comfortable and quiet. Would definitely recommend and would love to return again - located nicely in between Bath and Longleat safari park, a great base for local exploring.
