We have just returned from a lovely stay at The Plaine. We found this great B&B on the web and after a quick chat on the phone with Stephanie was really encouraged about its close location to Bath, and the prospect of a comfy four poster bed! We were not disappointed! Stephanie and Giles had the directions to a tee and they also gave us the option of arriving earlier or later (depending on what we were doing on our way down) so a quick call to say we would be there at 5o'clock and we were greeted warmly by Stephanie. Our son is studying at Bath Spa and this was our first stay to spend some time with him and it was close enough for him to drop us back in the evening and allow him to take his car (which we drove down in) back to his flat. Then, the next morning we caught the bus into Bath, a 20min journey, from the bus stop on the corner of the village- much easier than finding parking in Bath. Stephanie and Giles were the perfect hosts- enough chat to make you feel welcome and to find out things about the local area (the walk through the George alley was great)- but not too much that you felt like running and hiding in your room! The room was perfect too, really spacious and with enough chintz to be comfy! The whole house had character was very inviting and comfortable- we really couldn't find fault! Thanx!

“Loved The Plaine!”

We stayed at The Plaine as we were visiting the new Bath Spa, and had a great time. The room was lovely, the breakfasts were wonderful, and we had a great meal at the George Inn. We got the bus to and from Bath each day (15 minutes each way) from just outside The Plaine, avoiding parking nightmares in Bath. We would definately stay again.

Stephanie and Giles really made us feel welcome.Room was clean and well decorated, hubby even thought curtains were smart,( for a man to be impressed by home furnishing you must have done something right!!) The Plaine is in a lovely setting . Hosts were very knowledgeable about local area and advised on many attractions and views worth a visit. Breakfast was delicious,Would definitely recommend to others and would like to make a return visit in the future.

“Great place, great people!”

The Plaine

Very charming house, reflecting tradition but expertly refurbished. Spacious room, tasteful decoration. The booking was made by my colleague in Britain and I stayed in The Plaine for 3 nights, each time after a tiring business-day.

It was perfect for having a good rest. The people running the place are extremely hospitable, and you get the kind of personal attention that is impossible to find in " big " hotels or chains.

Excellent and hearty English breakfast with a full choice of goodies. I will certainly stay here again, should I have to visit Bath in the future.

Great place to stay. Stephanie and Giles were the perfect hosts. The room was comfortable and clean and had all mod-cons. We have stayed in many B&B's around the country and usually come away thinking "that was nice" but The Plaine tops the list. Set in a beautiful Somerset village of Norton St Philip, the guest house is the perfect loctaion for sight seeing. Only a few minutes away from Bath (our intended tourist spot) it provided everything we needed. We only wish we could have stayed for longer. Don't think maybe, just book it.
