“An unexpected surprise!”

Our stay here was unexpected due to a well-known Easy budget airline cancelling the late night London bound flight. Tired, fed up and having walked the 10 minutes from Copenhagen Kastrup Airport as the airport taxi rank queue was horrendous and total scrum, the images conjured up by the name "Hotel Dan" were quickly forgotten as the hotel was welcoming and very pleasant.

The receptionist spoke perfect English and was very accommodating at providing a room and was very happy to order a taxi the next morning too. Our room was reasonably clean, although the inside of the toilet looked a little unpleasant.

Breakfast was nothing special, but it did the job.

If I ever needed to stay here by the airport again, I would be happy to do so at Hotel Dan.

“Handy little Hotel for sightseeing”

Stayed for three nights for a sightseeing trip to Copenhagen. Hotel is a good 15 min walk from T3 Kastrup Airport. This isn't too bad if you don't have heavy bags.

The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. My room was decent enough and also clean and tidy. Bathroom is small, but this caused no problems. At 6' 5 tall I should know if it's too small! There is no air conditioning, but I kept my window open and was not bothered by any noise either from the airport or the local neighbourhood.

Breakfast, which was included in the price, was traditional Scandinavian buffett style. There is also an evening buffett dinner at a total cost of DKK 65. This was adequate but should you require something different there are a couple of restaurants in the vicinity or if you are sightseeing, there is central Copenhagen.

Transport links are excellent. There is a bus service to town or if you enjoy walking, go back to the airport where the train station is situated and catch the train. They tend to be every 10 mins into town. Also, every 20 mins you can catch a train over to Malmo, Sweden. At DKK 73 this isn't too expensive for a nice daytrip.

All in all, a decent hotel whose location close to the airport is ideal. This is good if all you really require is somewhere to sleep with a decent breakfast. If you require an hotel with lots of facilities and plenty of action, don't book this one.

“A different view from some earlier reviews”

I read some really terrible reviews after I'd booked. I was so apprehensive that I emailed the manager and got a prompt, reassuring reply. Still...
However, we found that check-in was smooth, staff was friendly, accomodations were clean, comfortable, quiet and fairly roomy, and airport shuttle and driver were a great help. He even walked a block to get a trolly for our bags when we got to the terminal!

TRUE, this is a business hotel and most stays are for one night. The lobby is a little stark, BUT there is internet available and you can print out your boarding passes through the front desk.

NOT TRUE, there is food. There's a single entree dinner buffet at a very reasonable price, and there's a very good, reasonable Chinese resturant just across the street that's lovely, and around the corner there's a good local bakery. The breakfast buffet is smaller then most, but has hot and cold, and good coffee.

TRUE, it is in a more outlying residential area, not perhaps where you'd want to be to sightsee for several days in city center, BUT you want the airport after all and the neighborhood is fine with the train and bus within walking distance.

TRUE, be aware, the shuttle does not run on weekends, only weekday mornings starting at 8 (but there is the train). BUT, your flight probably leaves in the morning and the shuttle is a great convenience although cab would not break the bank.

Holland America and Costa book their crews here. It's not 4 star, just plain, clean, comfortable and a great departure base.

“Not a four star hotel”

Ware, Massachusetts

We stayed two nights (first week of June) on different days at this hotel.
They claimed there was a shuttle bus from the airport terminal to the hotel. We found out that it only goes twice a day (morning and evening). This led to us walking to the hotel, a 15-20 min. walk, depending on your luggage. It is situated in an residential area, not the best of areas but okay. The first night we stayed we were given a tiny room which had definitely seen better days (basic american motel came to mind). On our second time, couple of days later, we arrived pretty late and were given a family size updated room that was much better. Although, somebody decided to smoke in the bathroom (non-smoking room) earlier, which put a damper on this much improved room. Breakfast was adequate, certainly nothing to get excited about. All in all, I would say this is certainly no four star hotel.

“Functional and drab”

Quality Hotel Airport Dan

Copenhagen can be a very hard place to find accommodation so book really early if you can. I needed a one night at a hotel near to the airport and this was the only offer I got. This hotel is 800 metres from the airport in a residential area so you can walk if you have small amounts of luggage and it is not raining. A taxi takes about 5 minutes. Taxis are expensive and it costs about £10 each way into the city centre.

The staff do try hard but the hotel is getting shabby and needs a refit. The rooms are small and drab. Mine had a ventilator fan near by so it was too noisy to open the window. There seemed to be no individual heating controls - although the temperature was OK.

The overall decor is brown and it felt depressing. The dining room looked rather gloomy and I couldn't face the free buffet offered.

To be fair the bed was comfortable and it did the job required - but functional rather than enjoyable.
