We only live 20mins away from Bryces, and can't believe we haven't tried it in the 8 years we've been living in Horsham - but we will definitely be going back again!
We visited on a Tuesday evening recently for my birthday treat, and it was a really lovely meal from start to finish. Staff were friendly and invited us to take a drink in their reserved diner's bar area (as opposed to the other bar area for non-restaurant visitors). Whilst there we perused the fairly long blackboard specials menu as well as the standard a la carte menu. We love fish and seafood, and never before have we fancied so many dishes and struggled so hard to choose!
When our order was ready we were taken through to the smart dining room where we thoroughy enjoyed chilli and salt soft shell crab (amazingly tasty) and a beautiful mini seafood lasagne with saffron foam for starters. Then for mains we enjoyed sea bream on a bed of prawn risotto and sea trout on a bed of crayfish risotto - we both had good sized fish fillets and we were also served with a dish of beautifully cooked green vegetable medley and crisped rosettes of mashed potato. We decided we were too full to sample the desserts menu. Then, as my other half had mentioned it was my birthday when booking the table, they brought out an indoor firework in a bowl of ice cream and sang happy birthday - nice touch.
Price wise, it's not cheap, but for a special occasion worth the splurge - they charge £25 for 2 courses or £31 for 3 courses, but fish and seafood is never cheap. As you can probably tell, we were impressed! Just one word of warning - don't go with non-fish eaters, as unless you warn the restaurant in advance, they might go hungry - even the steak on the menu came with prawns!
