The Harmony Hotel is absolutely dreadful. We were travelling as part of a group but our main hotel didn't have enough rooms so I booked 2 rooms for extra friends. When we arrived, upon check-in, the receptionist is arguing with another guest because they have overbooked their rooms and have nowhere to put him. We go to check in, none of the staff speak English (apart from hello, goodbye & thank you). They cannot find my reservation so I have to log into my hotmail to show my booking.com reservation. After much confusion they finally give my friend his room.
Upon entering the room, you are hit with a stench of sewerage. We had booked the deluxe room which is on the ground floor and to our horror, we discover the sewerage is backing up into the bathroom. We complained about this, nothing got done about it. Furthermore, there is NO hot water in the room during the entire the stay. He stayed there for 3 nights in these appalling conditions, sewerage stench & cold showers before finally deciding enough was enough and he checked into another hotel.
For our friends in the 2nd room, they were in a standard room which is on the first level. They didn't have the sewerage problem however they too had no hot water for their 4 nights and they got food poisoning from the breakfast they ate on the 30th January.
There was confusion with the bill and when we tried to pay for the accommodation, the owner's son tried to charge the first room for 7 nights rather than 5 nights (despite my friend only staying there for 3 nights). I offered payment for the 5 nights which he refused and told me I had to sort it out with booking.com as my contract is with them. I contacted Booking.com and they were extremely apologetic and told me they would sort it but it would take up to 5 days. In the meantime, the owner's son sent the police to our main hotel that evening complaining we refused to pay! When the police heard our side of the story, they could not believe what they were hearing. We told them we would give them the cash to pay the bill and get a receipt - to the policemen's surprise, the owners son also refused to take payment off them! Eventually they 'convinced' him to accept the payment for the 5 nights. Furthermore - the Harmony Hotel had re-sold my friend's room for those last 2 nights to another poor guest... so they double dipped on the room and we paid for absolutely nothing.
Seriously - do yourself a favour - DO NOT STAY HERE. It will ruin your holiday. The only consistency at the Harmony Hotel was guests complaining and receptionists arguing. There are 2 other hotels in the direct vicinity, the stand out being The Golden Palm which is around the same price and is extremely modern, clean and far superior to this dump they call the Harmony Hotel.
