We stayed here this weekend and have nothing but praise for Maria and her team at the hotel. They only took over 2 weeks ago but the wonderful care and attention you receive is better than that at 5* hotels we have stayed in. The decor is stylish and, although all is not perfect yet, I have no doubt it will be very soon with all the hard work being put in.
We were made to feel welcome from the minute we walked in the door. Ellie was bright ,helpful and cheerful - a lovely big smile and so happy to help throughout our stay. We were shown to room 1 which has a lovely colour scheme and extra little touches that show the hotel team care about their guests comfort. The room, linen and towels were immaculately clean and the tea/coffee making facilities were most welcome !
We ate in the restaurant on both nights of our stay - Wow!! The food is absolutely amazing!! If you want pages and pages of choice, which usually leads to the fast arrival of mediocre food, this is not the place for you. The menu has plenty of variety and your meal is made freshly when you order it. This applies to all the courses. We had a wonderful meal at an incredibly cheap price for the quality (all starter/desserts £4.95, main course £9.95). We had originally planned to eat elsewhere on our second night but cancelled it - The Vale was much better. The dining room is lovely for a romantic meal or a friends get together - it feels personal with a good atmosphere. Our waiter was Toby and you could not ask for a better, more friendly service. He is quietly efficient, with a lovely sense of humour and makes you feel that it is a real pleasure for him to serve you. This, combined with the amazing food, makes dining at The Vale a "must do " experience.
Breakfast each morning was enough to keep you going for the day.Cereal, toast, jams, juice etc and when they offer a full English breakfast, they mean it - its huge! Again it is cooked for you as you order it so it's piping hot and delicious. It was served by Pimpa who, like her colleagues, is helpful, friendly and will go out of her way to help...all done with a super smile.
Ok that was War and Peace! In a nutshell, stay at The Vale and eat at The Vale - you'll love it because the team make you feel that they care !
