“spot on”

Pottery House

24 Jan 2008

In few words:

Spacious and clean bedrooms with beds that make you want to stay in longer!

Fortunately the breakfast makes you want to get up...especially home-made bred rolls & jam.

Bathroom was so clean and spacious that my girlfriend moved in straight away...

Information on what & where to do is excellent!! and the food in Dores Inn well worth a visit...

Overall excellent - excellent - excellent. One of the best B&Bs ever stayed at.

“Fantastic!”

My boyfriend and I stayed at Pottery House for one night in November and it was just fantastic. We stayed in the room at the front with the view of Loch Ness which is beautiful. The room really did feel like it was 'home from home' as John and Glen really had thought of everything, from the vast selection of their personal DVDs that you can chose from, to the hot chocolate and shortbread.

The room was incredibly clean and comfortable with a lovely large en suite bathroom. The breakfast was also fantastic, with a great choice of cereals, fruit, cooked breakfasts and even freshly baked rolls! Overall we both felt that Pottery House B&B was one of the best B&Bs that we had ever stayed in and it is definitely worth a visit.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Pottery House for 3 nights in November.
We found it on TripAdvisor (of course) and didn't have to think twice about booking it once we had read through the reviews.

I'm pleased to say that Pottery House lives up to its reputation!

We checked in with no hassle and no fuss. We were able to completely relax from the moment we arrived. There were no awkward house rules which made you feel as though you were staying with a horrid aunt as opposed to being on holiday. It was simply home from home.

The quality of the room was first class. Everything from the nice big comfy bed to the power shower in the large en suite was great. (We had the double room at the rear of the house overlooking the garden).

The attention to detail didn't go unnoticed and the sachets of Hot Chocolate went down well after a day out walking in the rain! Free wireless Internet came in really handy too.

Breakfast was spot on. A great selection of cereal, fruit, yogurt etc.
The cooked Scottish breakfast was one of the best fry-ups I have had in ages! (yes, even the haggis). Not to mention the home made rolls (which you can vote for on their communal computer!) and home made jams.

The owners, John and Geln have obviously put a lot of thought into how
best to look after their guests. They are extremely accomodating and helpful.

I'm not overstating it by saying this is the best B&B we have stayed in. I just wish more places got it right like this.

I have just returned from Pottery House after a week of the most interesting and relaxing break I have ever had. The B&B was the cleanest I have ever stayed in, with lovely decor and a room to die for overlooking the loch. My girlfriend and I were made to feel very welcome and well looked after. We hired a car and explored the surrounding areas. This is my first visit to Scotland and I have never seen such great scenery in my life.

I would recommend anyone to stay in Pottery House and and come away feeling relxed and refreshed.

We just spent 1 night and the only bad thing was that we couldn't stay longer. Exactly what we expected from the reviews, and maybe even better. We stayed in one of the front rooms and the view was a very nice thing to wake up to. The room itself was lovely, spacious, comfortable and with every detail perfectly attended to. Breakfast was also very good and attention by John and Glen impecable. I strongly recomend it, and would absolutely come back if ever near Dores again.
