The weather was cold and fresh when we stayed at Pottery House. The warm, welcoming atmosphere at the B&B was a stark contrast to outside and was very welcome. This is the best B&B we have stayed at (attention to detail is outstanding - even down to fresh milk in the fridge located in the HUGE wardrobe).....lovely ambience to the room and the bathroom....well! Don't get confused by the term B&B, Pottery House is well above expectations and WELL WORTH A VISIT!

If you ever visit the highlands then make Pottery House, Dores (about 20 minutes from Inverness) a priority. You won't be disappointed and I bet you book in next year!! I have!!

P.S. John's home-made bread is to die for and don't forget to sample his haggis!

We stayed on the shore of Loch Ness for 3 nights and had a wonderful time, made all the better by our stay at Pottery House. The service was amazing as was the food and room. John and Glen were more than willing to advise on things to do or places to go. Breakfasts were fantastic with daily specials and fresh bread rolls. We felt a perfect balance between friendliness and privacy. You couldn't ask for anything else from a B&B.
Can't recommend it enough.

The Pottery House was easy to find, however first impression from the road was dubious because the building you're looking at is actually the village hall - the B&B is further up the hill, which was a relief!

Walking through the door the first impression is how clean and spacious the public area is. After a quick registration we were shown to our room which was HUGE with a HUGE bathroom en suite too.

The rooms were immaculate. Very clean, very tidy and spaciously laid out. The decor and furninshing was excellent and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was delicious too - what more can I say?

I've stayed in plenty of B&B's before and this was without doubt the best of them all. The Pottery House fully deserves the four stars and certificates of commendation adorning the doorway and hall.

my husband and I had a one night stay at Pottery House B&B in February 2008. The location of the property was beautiful. Our room which was situated overlooking Loch Ness was impeccable to say the least. The attention to detail in the room was second to none. Fresh milk in the fridge, lovely thick fluffy towels, and as for the bed...... gorgeous feather filled pillows and duvets (just like sleeping on a cloud)!! Breakfast was just perfect, with freshly baked homemade rolls, homemade marmalades and the pancakes were to die for!! The owners were extremely friendly and should be extremely proud of themselves for running such a beautiful B&B.

We look forward to returning in the future with our children.

“spot on”

In few words:

Spacious and clean bedrooms with beds that make you want to stay in longer!

Fortunately the breakfast makes you want to get up...especially home-made bred rolls & jam.

Bathroom was so clean and spacious that my girlfriend moved in straight away...

Information on what & where to do is excellent!! and the food in Dores Inn well worth a visit...

Overall excellent - excellent - excellent. One of the best B&Bs ever stayed at.
