I took my Mum and Dad for a long weekend to enjoy the scenery around Loch Ness and see the dolphins in the Moray Firth. I’m not normally a great fan of B & Bs, but having read the reviews on Trip Advisor I decided to book the Pottery House and hope it would live up to the reviews. I needn’t have worried. It exceeded my expectations (and those of my Mum and Dad) in every way. It is a delightful spot and the house was purpose built as a B & B, so the rooms are spacious and extremely well finished. John and Glen are the perfect hosts. Very attentive and easy to get on with, but not at all intrusive. They also produce the most fantastic breakfasts!

I would have no hesitation in recommending the Pottery House to anyone.

Pottery House lives up to its excellent website. We received a warm welcome and were looked after really well. Our room was comfortable, and beautifully decorated and furnished. The bathroom was large and tastefully decorated. Breakfasts, served in the comfortable dining room, were great with tasty specials every day (the smoked haddock is recommended). We did like the collection of teapots - we had a different one every day! The garden is pretty with lots of different plants and parking is fine. We could see the Loch and the hills from our window ok but I expect the view is even better on a clear winter's day.

The guest house provided a welcome pack with details of places to visit, walk and eat. There was a 5 minute walk to the local pub that served good evening meals. We did one of the walks which was very scenic and pleasant.

We couldn't fault one thing and would recommend it to anyone. We will stay there again.

Stayed here during first week in May, delighted to have found such an excellent B&B. Superb standard of comfort, delicious breakfast including home made rolls selected the previous evening and baked fresh....couldn't fault the service and would recommend The Pottery House to anyone (already have!).

“Pottery House has it all.”

Pottery House

16 May 2008

We just returned from spending 16 days in Scotland and stayed at some memorable B&B's. All were as we expected them to be thanks to the reviews on Trip Advisor. Pottery House was more than we expected. It has a lovely location in a small village on Loch Ness, and was built as a guest house, so the rooms are large and airy with all the amenities you might hope for and then some. The bed was extremely comfortable, the linens were very cozy, a mini-fridge in a closet larger than some bathrooms, fresh flowers, etc. It was a room you would love to have in your own home to welcome overnight guests. The hosts seemed to anticipate our every possible need and have it at-hand. Our bathroom was almost as large as the bedroom and very well equipped. We only wished we'd had more time to spend there. Breakfast was delicious with a nice assortment of cold and hot items and home-baked rolls and jams. Be sure to walk down to the beach by Dores Inn and watch the sunset after dinner; friendly folks, bonfires, dogs, very mellow. Let John and Glen guide you to some of their favorite places. All in all, it had it all. And that's rare.
