The house is in the cliff face on the way to Roque St Christophe and I have no idea why I have never seen it in Englsh language guidebooks as it is better!
The owner bought the house from the Bordeaux department in the first part of the 2000's and it was opened to the public in 2006. The rooms of the chateaux have been decorated as they would have been when it was inhabited, proving to be fascinating. An english language book/leaflet describes the chateaux in great detail as you walk round.
A good display of replica prehistoric finds, with some wonderful explanations and demonstrations can be found in the cellar.
You can also climb up through the house to visit the cave dwellings above, and there is a very interesting (if you can stomach it) "Torture museum" in the cliff face with many torture items from times gone by. This is not to everyones taste, and is not for children - but well worth a visit if you like being grossed out!
Cost was standard - aroung 7.80 in June 2011.
