The Hotel Continental is a great hotel in a lovely spot - just a shame it's a mile away from the lake and all the cafes/bars. The room was clean and spacious, the room service was flawless, and the view was beautiful (from our room, anyway). The staff were wonderfully obliging, finding timetables, helping with all our little queries, especially when we wanted to do something a bit out of the ordinary, like have breakfast early and so on. We loved the restaurant staff, they were polite, helpful and very entertaining!
My only reservation was the food - what they gave us cooked fine, but rather unimaginative - we had veal 4 or 5 times. I have had better hotel food in Italy.
All in all, though, we loved it and would probably use it again - if only it could be moved from Nago to Torbole!

Lake garda-Superb-relaxing and well worth a visit-or even several visits.We really enjoyed it.
hotel-2 swimming pools-both very good one in and one out.

breakfasts were very good-hot english or vast cold buffet style-loads of it!!
evening meal-a great disappointment - the food was boring,bland and not what you would expect to have at a 4 star hotel. i wouldnt have put up with that standard in a 1 star.it was all presented properly and the waiters were very very good and very helpful however the food was awful.
if you have ever been to an italian restaurant in england and enjoyed it this was nothing like it.
there were plenty of pasta type dishes but the sauces were either very small portions or non existent. we were told that chicken was very popular-we never saw it on the menu. we did have a risotto one night which was risotto rice mixed with a red wine sauce!-nothing else in it. it was terrible and i refused to eat it.
the only enjoyable meal was the gala night when we had roast pork and the meal that evening was excellent-if only the rest had been as good! we gave in at the end and went out to eat elsewhere.
if the hotel got the food right we would have no hesitation in going back there otherwise-no way.
lake garda itself is wonderful and we will definitely be going back.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Hotel Continental and had a fantastic week, the hotel staff were all excellent and very helpful, the food was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble, the hotel was very clean, the Gala dinners were very special and the managers and staff made us feel like vip's. We can't wait until we return again some day.

I was somewhat concerned ,after having booked the Hotel Continental in Nago - Torbola to read some unfavourable reports on this website. I booked it for my family , seven of us travelling including a 7 month baby. But I was very pleased to find the hotel was much better than some descriptions. It was very clean, the staff are very friendly and they tried their very best to ensure holiday makers are happy. The village itself is very nice small quiet and at tthe top of a steep hill overlooking the lake. We enjoyed the walk down into Torbola, there are two distinct paths, one on a quiet road the other an old cobbled road through olive groves lovely walk for the fit. I do think for those who do not enjoying walking they may find this hotel out of the way but it does run a minibus into the town once a day there and back. Overall we all had a very enjoyable holiday and would most certainly come back to both the region and this hotel.
